India Gate - This 42m high stone memorial pays tribute to the valiant soldiers of Indian Army who sacrificed their lives for the country during World War I, Northwest Frontier operations and in the Anglo-African War in 1919. A flame burns day and night in the memorial for the remembrance of the martyrs. Tourists are permitted to retrace the audacity of the Indian soldiers.
President House- It has 340 rooms with large corridors stretching up to 2.5 km. It was the residence of British Viceroy formerly and now the home of the head of state. It is fascinating to take a peek inside this historical building, and a guided visit takes in the domed Durbar Hall, presidential library, and gilded Ashoka Hall.
Parliament House - The Sansad Bhawan (Parliament Building) is the house of the Parliament of India, located in the northwestern side of the& Vijay Chowk in the vicinity of the secretariat buildings.Originally called the House of Parliament ,marks governance of the world's largest democracy.
Gandhi House - It is the world-famous memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. The Gandhi House is the place where he was shot on 30 January 1948, causing the death. Gandhi spent his last 144 days in this house (Birla House) and his room is preserved in the same condition as he left it. You can find his possessions there which include spectacles, a walking stick, a spinning wheel and a pair of chappals.
National Museum - This splendid museum is full of amazing ancient treasures. It showcases sophisticated figurine from Harappa civilization including the remarkable dancing girl, and fine ceramics from Nal civilization. It also showcases exquisite jewelry, miniature paintings, medieval woodcarvings, Buddha relics, textiles and musical instruments.

Bibi ka Makbara - Bibi ka makbara is a principal monument tomb commissioned by the Mughal Prince Azam Shah the son of Aurangzeb in memory of Dilras Banu Begum his mom in 1660 in Aurangabad city. It is a replica of the famous tomb Taj Mahal, Agra and is known as the Taj of the Deccan.
Ellora Cave - Existing from 600-1000 CE period, Ellora Cave is a group of monastery temple complexes which many godly idols in the campus, positioned in an exotic manner. It is considered one of the monastery temple complexes in the world, which are cut out of a single rock. Monuments and artwork of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism can be found here. Cave 16 features the biggest monolithic rock mine in the world. In this excavation, chariot shaped monument are present. It is the Kailasha temple, dedicated to Shiva.
Ajanta Caves- The cave is styled similar to Ellora, Elephanta and other cave temples of Karnataka. With about 30 rock-cuts, the cave comprises ancient monasteries and worship halls. A 250 ft rock wall is carved in Buddhist style.It has multiple Buddhist cave monuments which were built from the 2nd century BCE to about 480 or 650 CE.

Taj Mahal : The Taj Mahal meaning "Crown of the Palace". It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Started in 1932 and the construction of the mausoleum was essentially completed in 1643 but work continued on other phases of the project for another 10 years. The Taj Mahal completed in 1653 at a cost of 32 million rupees at that time which 55 billion rupees right now. Architect name was Ustad Ahmad Lahauri and he used almost 20000 workers to build this Taj Mahal. It was declared a winner of the New7Wonders of the World (2000–2007) initiative.
Agra Fort : Agra Fort is a historical fort in the city of Agra in India. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. Agra Fort built by Akbar in Red Sandstone. Some 1,444,000 builders in 1565 worked on it for eight years, completing it in 1573. Sahet Mahet Stupa : The ancient city Saravasti is now represented by the group of its remains called as Sahet- Mahet. Sahet, the most famous site of Buddhist monastery is known as Jetavana Mahavihara. One of the most famous stupas here are the two stupas namely Pakki Kuti and Kachchi Kuti. Other monasteries include Gandha Kuti, Jetavan garden and Kosamba Kuti.
Sudata Stupa : The ancient mold of ruins is located mear Pakki Kuti which is also known as Kachchi Kuti (modern name Kachcha Brick). During the period of Prasenajita the king of Saravasti, a wealthy merchant named Sudata lived here. He was the reason Lord Buddha went there. As there were no monarities there Sudata built a stupa for Buddha.
Angulimala Stupa : The Angulimala Stupa is one of the major monuments you will find in Saravasti city. It was excavated along with many other ruins in 1863 in Saravasti. The stupa was named after a dacoit who belonged to the dredges of the ancient society. The legend reflects the abolition of the caste system that Buddha propagated.

Maya Devi Temple : The Maya Devi temple, the main temple at Lumbini is where Lord Buddha’s birth took place exactly. It is said that before giving birth to Gautama Buddha Maya Devi bathed in a pond called pushkarini and sat under the tree beside the temple. The archeology department is working with the renovation of the temple.

Buddha relic stupa - This is 5th-century stupa, is now in ruins, but it was one of the eight location where Buddha's ashes were buried.
Ananda Stupa - Gautama Buddha preached his last sermon. Lord Buddha announced his approaching Mahaparinirvana (death) just three months in advance. In 383 BCE the Second Buddhist council was convened here by King Kalasoka. It contains one of the best-preserved Ashoka Pillar.
Kesariya Stupa - Kesariya, situated in Bihar serves as the largest place of Buddhist stupa of the world. It possesses a rich heritage of Buddhist architecture of ancient times highlighting the stupa. The initial height of the stupa was almost 1400 ft. and due to several earthquakes, it got shrunk and stands at 104 ft. now.

Griddhakuta Hill - Griddhakuta hill literally means “Vulture’s Peak”. At the top of the foot of which are hot sulfur springs, crowded with the people seeking a medicinal dip.
Bimbisara Jail - This place once was a jail where Bimbisar was jailed by his son Ajatsatru, and starved him to death. It is believed Bimbisar was spending all his wealth for propagation of Budhhist faith. If you see from outside, its only barren land,surrounded by hills.
Venuvan - One of most sacred sites of Rajgir, this used to be favorite resort of Buddha during his stay at Rajgir.
Nalanda University - Nalanda University was founded in the 5th century CE. It was already destroyed two times before the last time it was ransacked and destroyed by an army of the Mamluk dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate under tha Bakhtiyar Khilji in 1200 CE. The remains of the Nalanda University revived again 19th century when the site was surveyed.
Mahabodhi Temple - Located at Bodh Gaya, Mahabodhi Temple was built by Emperor Ashoka, after 280 years after Buddha attained enlightenment. It proudly features the diamond throne and the Holy tree - ‘Bodhi Tree.’ The tree grew from the original sapling of the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree, Srilanka. The Mahabodhi temple was declared as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the year 2002.

Mahabodhi Tree - Behind the Mahabodhi Temple, there is a Bodhi tree planted since early 19th century. Several Bodhi trees might have been replanted using the saplings from earlier Bodhi tree. During Mauryan Emperor King Ashoka's period, his daughter, Sanghamitta, took a branch from the Bodhi tree from Bodh Gaya to Sri Lanka, and planted in a place near the city of Anuradhapura.
Sujata Stupa - The village of Bakraur is believed to be the home of Sujata, who is said to have fed Gautama Buddha milk and rice shortly before he attained illumination. A stupa dedicated to Sujata has been erected in Bakraur.

Sarnath : Sarnath is famous as the site of deer park where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dharma and where the Buddhist Sangha came into existence. It is one of the four main Buddhist pilgrimage destinations. After the enlightenment Gautama Buddha travelling to Sarnath, Buddha had no money with which to pay the ferryman to cross the Ganges, so he crossed it through the air.
Sarnath Museum : According to Archeological Survey of India, Sarnath Museum is the oldest museum in the country. The museum houses more than 6000 artifacts and ancient sculptures. The museum proudly houses the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the famous exhibit of this museum. Besides, it also depicts the richest collection of edifices and sculptures which comprise of Buddhist remains.
Chokhandi Stupa : Chuakhandi Stupa is an important Buddhist Stupa. Stupa had evolved from burial mounds and serve as a shrine for relic of the Buddha. The Chaukhandi Stupa is thought originally to have been built as a terraced temple during the Gupta period between 4th and 6th century to mark the site of Lord Buddha.
